Codes not working

I've followed along the video and i've read through some of the questions already asked, but for some reason i can't get the code to work. I'm working on it through SublimeText and accessing it through my local server but nothing is coming up, can anyone help?

this is the code I have:

<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
<head>
  <meta charset="utf-8">
  <link href='//fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Varela+Round' rel='stylesheet' type='text/css'>
  <link rel="stylesheet" href="css/main.css">
  <title>AJAX with JavaScript</title>
  <script>
 var xhr = new XMLHttpRequest();
 xhr.onreadystatechange = function () {
  if (xhr.readyState === 4) {
    document.getElementByID('ajax').innerHTML = xhr.responseText;
  }
 };
 xhr.open('GET', 'sidebar.html');
 xhr.send();
  </script>
</head>
<body>
  <div class="grid-container centered">
    <div class="grid-100">
      <div class="contained">
        <div class="grid-100">
          <div class="heading">
            <h1>Bring on the AJAX</h1>
          </div>
          <div id="ajax">

          </div>
        </div>
      </div>
    </div>
  </div>
</body>
</html>

Hi Michael,

You ' ve made a small mistake. The line in the callback where you get the the response text and tried to put it into the ajax div you misspelled the function name:

document.getElementbyID( ... );
// instead of
document.getElementbyId( ... );

Hope this helps;
