command prompt in less

When I run "less" on hello.txt my command prompt is different from the instructors and I can't navigate the way he is. Instead I get something like:

hello.txt (END)

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Your console is probably longer than the file. Reduce the size of the console and you will be able to scroll up and down.

I had the same problem, all I had to do was re-size the console.
