confused about what is supposed to go into the variable

how do i put the results from calling the returnValue even to the var echo

function returnValue (dog){
  var echo = returnValue;
  return dog
}
returnValue('poodle');

There is a little different between the task 1 solution and your solution. var echo equal to the argument and return the variable name. You can use the shorthand solution, dont saved the argument in the variable and returned the argument name. Hope this help.

You're pretty close. You should be assigning the result of the function call (

returnValue('poodle');

) to the echo variable outside of the function body.
