Could someone please help me with this Code Challenge?

Hi guys,

I cant seem to complete this code challenge. Everytime i make it to task 3, it says it looks like Task 1 is incomplete or wrong or something like that. Could someone please help me with what I'm doing wrong? Thank you.

Hello Melvinder

The problem is you are calling the function getYear but not setting it to a variable. To solve this we want call the method and make sure the return value from the method is assigned to the variable like this.

function getYear()
{
  var year = new Date().getFullYear();
  return year;
}

var yearToday = getYear();
