Could you remind me what a "document root" is?

just a reminder.

index.html
<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
  <head>
    <meta charset="utf-8">
    <title>Isaac C | Designer</title>

Document root is the file that gets forwarded when you put a address in the web browser. Thats the index.html

The document root is the origin where the source code comes from. For example the document root of a project is the project directory (folder), but the document root of the user on your computer is the users directory and the document root of your computer is the / directory. I think you were asking for the project root so I hope this helped as well.

example for your project case: src="/somefilehere"
