You're on the right track with your function. The HINT says that you'll need to use a conditional statement to compare the two parameters. If you remember from conditionals that means an if...else statement:

function max (p1, p2) {
  if (p1 > p2) {
    return p1;
  } else {
    return p2;
  }
}

Hi this worked, I hope it does for you as well.

function max(msyteryTwo, mysteryThree)

{ if(mysteryTwo > mysteryThree) { return mysteryTwo } else { return mysteryThree } }

var mysteryTwo = max(20);

var mysteryThree = max(10);

function max(x,y) {
  if (x>y) {
  return x;
  } else {
  return y;
  }
}

This is what I 've done. :)
