1,290 PointsCSS is not changing the color to the footer
Hi
It looks like I have written the code correctly however, the CSS is not changing the footer text at all. Also my footer text Davina Fisher 2014 is a link to Facebook in the browser, although I did not add a link to it on the Workspace??? Here is a link to the workspace: http://web.kh2jzbbokn.treehouse-app.com/

Thanks for the code. So, you have a couple weird things going on, but mostly, it's forgetting to close the <img>
tag and adding a </a>
tag. That's why it looked funny to me in the inspector. Specifically for your question about the footer, I tried out this and it works (I think) as you expect:
<footer>
<a href="http://twitter.com/nickrp"><img src="img/twitter-wrap.png" alt="Twitter Logo"></a>
<a href="http://facebook.com/nickpetit"><img src="img/facebook-wrap.png" alt="Facebook Logo"></a> <p>© 2014 Davina Fisher.</p>
</footer>
Does that clear some things up?

5,542 PointsHi Davina,
I checked out your workspace and did an inspection using Chrome DevTools. It looks like your footer has some extra <a>
tags hanging around. Ensure that all of your Social links start with <a>
and end the line with just </a>
. Also, after your <p>
tag with your name, you do close that tag, but there is another closing </a>
after it.
If I were you, I'd first check to make sure all of your syntax is correct and then let me know if it's still problematic!

I don't see any extra <a>'s? Here is the code:
```<!DOCTYPE html> <html> <head> <meta charset="utf-8"> <title>Davina Fisher | Super Mom</title> <link rel="stylesheet" href="css/normalize.css"> <style> nav a { color: white; background-color:orange; } </style> </head> <body> <header> <a href= "index.html"> <h1>Davina Fisher</h1> <h2> Mom</h2> </a> <nav> <ul> <li><a href="index.html">Portfolio</a></li> <li><a href="about.html">About</a></li> <li><a href="contact.html">Contact</a></li> </ul> </nav> </header> <section> <ul> <li> <a href="img/numbers-01.jpg"</li> <img src="img/numbers-01.jpg" alt=""> <p>Experimentation with color and texture</p> </a> </li> <li> <a href="img/numbers-02.jpg"</li> <img src="img/numbers-02.jpg" alt=""> <p>Playing with blends in Photoshop</p> </a> </li> <li> <a href="img/numbers-06.jpg"</li> <img src="img/numbers-06.jpg" alt=""> <p>Trying to create an 80's style of glows</p> </a> </li> <li> <a href="img/numbers-09.jpg"</li> <img src="img/numbers-09.jpg" alt=""> <p>Drips created using Photoshop brushes</p> </a> </li> <li> <a href="img/numbers-12.jpg"</li> <img src="img/numbers-12.jpg" alt=""> <p>Experimentation with color and texture</p> </a> </li> </ul> </section> <footer> <a href="http://twitter.com/nickrp"><img src="img/twitter-wrap.png" alt="Twitter Logo"</a> <a href="http://facebook.com/nickpetit"><img src="img/facebook-wrap.png" alt="Facebook Logo"</a> <p>Ā© 2014 Davina Fisher.</p> </footer> </body> </html>
