dimensional arrays

This code creates an array with one element. $countries = array("UK" => "United Kingdom"); What is the key of that one element?

The key would be "UK". An easy way to remember how associative array values work is to look at them the same way when you assign a value to a variable. When you assign a variable you're assigning the variable on the left equal to what's on the right. Like so

<?php
$name = "Joseph";
?>

The same thing applies here when assigning a key to a value in a associative array.

<?php
$random_array = array(
  "name" => "Joseph"
);
?>

Hope this helps and happy coding! :)
