JavaScript JavaScript Basics (Retired) Making Decisions with Conditional Statements Using Comparison Operators

Do I add a conditional statement after that specific variable or add the statement after all the variables?

oh snap ... this is the 1st time I've asked for help. i didn't realize it was a second step

script.js
var a = 10;
var b = 20;
var c = 30;
if (answer === parseInt("a")) {alert("a is less than b")}
  else {alert("a is not greater than b")};
index.html

<script src="script.js"></script>
</body>
</html>

There are a few issues with your code. 1) you're calling an answer variable that is never declared. 2) the challenge simply asks you to compare a to b and pass an alert depending on that conditional statement not to compare something === a

var a = 10;
var b = 20;
var c = 30;

if (a > b) {
  alert('a is greater than b')
}
else {
  alert('a is not greater than b')
}
