Like the thread title outlines, as this plugin is data heavy can it potentially slow down a site?

8,768 PointsHi! Any additional plugin will slow your site. As any plugin is a peace of code which wp has to link and process. I advise you to link to the analytics manually, it is not so much difficult. When registering your site (property) in Analytics they give you instructions how to do that.
