Does Workspace save files over long term?

I was working on a quiz.js for this prior to going on vacation and I know I had it saved, being pretty far along. When I opened Workspace today after a week's vacay, it was empty! Doesn't Workspace save the files for that long?

Michael, speaking from experience I have some workspaces that are a year old. Longer than that I am not sure.
