Ruby Ruby Operators and Control Structures Ruby Control Structures Else challenge

Don't get this. Maybe I'm getting error by mistake from ruby.

Set a variable called "too_fast" equal to "true" if the car_speed is faster than the speed_limit and "false" if the car_speed is less than the speed_limit.

ruby.rb
# W
car_speed = 65
speed_limit = 60
too_fast >= 60

if  car_speed > speed_limit
  too_fast = true
end

What you need to do is break your code into two parts.

if car_speed > speed_limit

too_fast = true

else

too_fast = false

end

(Note: Is says to make variable too_fast a bool.)

Thanks, I believe I tried that and it didn't work. But when I copied and pasted your code and put it into the challenge question it didn't have any problem and it worked.

Make sure you are completing the entire problem, it asks for you to determine if the car is above or BELOW the speed limit. Try adding another step to your code (not an if statement but an ... statement).

Thx for your help. This answer is what I used and it gets an error message. Am I doing it wrong or is it the challenge question is wrong?

car_speed = 65 speed_limit = 60 too_fast >= 60

if car_speed > speed_limit too_fast = true else car_speed < speed_limit too_fast = false end
