Don't know where i'm going wrong here

Could someone please complete the code

trial.py
def add(5, 2):
    try:

You are trying to pass in integers as variables:

def add(5, 2):
    try:
        sum = (5) + (2)

Change the integers to variables and in the try, don't have to surround the variables with parenthesis.

Call your function with integers as input.

add(5,2)

# This is the code that they are expecting you to write.
def add(arg1, arg2): # Pass in arguments and not integers
    try:
        answer = float(arg1) + float(arg2)  # Convert the arguments to floats
    except ValueError:
        return None # Return in the case of an error None
    else:
        return answer

# This is your function
def add(5, 2):
    try:
        sum = (5) + (2)
    except ValueError:
        print("That's not the answer!")
    else:
        return sum

Thanks for your input guys!
