Don't think i'm using split correctly?

I am pretty sure that you spit at the white spaces with the .split() method by leaving it how it is correct?

This method would be incorrect : .split(" ") correct?

wordcount.py
# E.g. word_count("I do not like it Sam I Am") gets back a dictionary like:
# {'i': 2, 'do': 1, 'it': 1, 'sam': 1, 'like': 1, 'not': 1, 'am': 1}
# Lowercase the string to make it easier.

def word_count(string):
    words = {}
    string.lower()
    for items in string.split():
        if items in words:
            words[items] += 1
        else:
            words[items] = 1
    return words

The lower function doesn't change the string it is used on.

So you'd need to reassign the string:

    string = string.lower()

But the good news is you were using split correctly. :+1:
