double [] finalLapTimes = new double {2.2, 2.3, 2.5, 2.8}; var lap3 =null; finalLapTimes[2] = lap3; what is wrong?

can someone tell me why the error index?

It's not clear which task you are on. It looks like you're trying to do step 4, but this code should not have passed task 3 yet.

For task 3, there should be a pair of brackets between "double" and the values in braces.

Then for task 4, the challenge says "Set lap3 to the value in the third item of the finalLapTimes array.", so "lap3" would be on the left side of the assignment, with the other term on the right.

thanks a lot, fixed! but the problem was in one more, after a "double" and "[]" I put a space so it did not work for a long time.
