downloading creative cloud??

I'm currently looking to put photoshop and illustrator on my computer. When I went on to adobe website I noticed you can download the complete creative cloud for a decent price.

When I looked at what is being downloaded it seemed like a lot. Would you recommend downloading it all??

Hi Troy,

The beauty of CC is that you can choose which applications you want to install.

It depends on what you are wanting to achieve.

If you are just wanting to use Photoshop and Illustrator, then that's all you need to download.

You should install a Creative Cloud app onto your machine that gives you the ability to choose which applications you want to install.

thanks for explaining that john, I just didn't want to download it and have them all if I didn't need them. What applications would you advise downloading. Like I mentioned I'm going to downloading photoshop and illustrator are there any other good ones??

The only other one that I would recommend is Indesign. It's great for page design, as in if you want to design brochures, leaflets, flyers etc.

Dreamweaver might be something you are interested in if you are making websites. However, personally I am not much of a fan of DW because I like to code websites in a text editor rather than an IDE like Dreamweaver.

Before you download anything other than PS and AI, have a google of the different applications and see if it would suit your needs. It's pointless downloading big applications like Adobe's ones if you are not going to use them.

What you should download depends on what you're planning on doing. Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign each have their pros and cons depending on (for example) the media that you're design for. I agree with John that InDesign is a great and versatile tool. Recently, however, I've been using Sketch 3 by Bohemian Coding a lot and I absolutely love it! For me it's perfect because my main focus is interface design for web apps and websites. On the other hand I don't think it's an ideal tool for print designs.
