Dynamically Refresh the Page Using AJAX

I reached the end of the Creating a Wordpress Plugin track, and I've created a similar wordpress plugin. I'd like to dynamically refresh the page using AJAX, but I don't know how to follow the best practices using Wordpress. Professionally, I work as a software engineer creating some web apps, so I've worked with AJAX a bit in the past. However, I've never dealt with AJAX in Wordpress directly, and I'd like to follow best practices. Is there a track that specifically outlines how to update a page on the frontend?
