What is wrong with my elseif statement?

var isStudent = true;

if ( isAdmin ) {
    alert('Welcome administrator');
} else if ( isStudent ) {
      alert('Welcome student'.);

The reason why your if statement is not running is because you have a period in the alert() method.

alert('Welcome student'.); // change it to alert('Welcome student');

There doesn't seem to be anything wrong with your else if statement, but you do have a . outside the quotes in your alert() call.

The challenges are very particular about what you output. If they want you to specifically output Welcome, student and not Welcome, student., then you will get a bummer.
