Why is this code giving an error? The alert even works. It says " Bummer! Hmmm. It doesn't look like you're storing the returned value in the echo
variable."
function returnValue( test ){
var echo = test;
return echo;
}
alert(returnValue("My arg"));

Courses Plus Student 26,868 PointsNow that you've created the returnValue function, call it, by passing it a literal string value -- a series of characters in quote marks like this: 'My argument'. Store the results of the function in a variable named echo.
Hi, there's no need for an extra variable in the function body; and the echo should be outside of the function definition.
function returnValue(test) {
return test;
}
var echo = returnValue("My argument");

9,652 PointsI agree with William. They are probably asking you to call the function and store it in an echo variable, then alert echo.
