Error: "Android Nougat requires the IDE to be running with Java 1.8 or later". Has anyone run into this or solved?

Was wondering if anyone has seen this error and/or found a solution to it?

I am running Android Nougat in my emulator. Download the Java 1.8 from oracle website.

Thanks everyone for the responses. I've downloaded the Java 1.8 and it helped me fix the error was receiving during the compile, but I still can't get the "Rendering Problems" up and running. It says I still need to update the SDK.
