Error says a href is not linking to right link, but it is.

The error says the Portfolio should link to "index.html". My code is linking to the correct file, so I don't know what is going on in my code to give it that error.

index.html
<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
  <head>
    <meta charset="utf-8">
    <title>Nick Pettit</title>
  </head>
  <body>
    <header>
      <a href="index.html">
        <nav>
          <ul>
            <li><a href="index.html">Portfolio</a></li>
            <li><a href="about.html">About</a></li>
            <li><a href="contact.html">Contact</a></li>
         </ul>
        <h1>Nick Pettit</h1>
        <h2>Designer</h2>
       </a>
      </nav>
    </header>
    <section></section>
    <footer>
      <p>&copy; 2013 Nick Pettit.</p>
    </footer>
  </body>
</html>

Hey Natalie,

You have all the correct elements, just not quite in the right places. To be honest, I'm not sure why Task one and two passed, which is what is causing the obvious confusion as to why Task three isn't passing.

The 1st task asks for a

navigation element with an unordered list element after the link inside the header.

You have the element and the list, but you have it inside the link element instead of after the link element. The opening <nav> and subsequent code needs to go after the closing </a> tag for the link.

Like I said, everything you have is correct, just misplaced. What I would do, is reset the code and start over fresh, this time just starting the <nav> after the </a>.

Keep Coding! :) :dizzy:

Ah that makes sense. Easy enough fix. Thanks for the reply!

Hi Natalie,

The instructions say to put the nav element after the link inside the header. You've placed it inside the link.
