Error when adding BrightBox repository.

I am trying to install the BrightBox repository to a Ubuntu VM. I am getting this error:

Cannot add PPA: 'ppa:brightbox/ruby-ng'.
Please check that the PPA name or format is correct.

I have tried to do it multiple times. Did the command change?

I am using VirtualBox.
