Error when starting the new project

I got below error when starting a new project.

Gradle 'FunFacts' project refresh failed. Error:Connection timed out: connect. If you are behind an HTTP proxy, please configure the proxy settings either in IDE or Gradle.

How to avoid this error? Please help.
