Explicitly using our Forecast API key

If we publish this app wouldn't we use an environment variable for the key. I definitely don't want it on Github. How would we set and use an environment variable with Android Studio?

I think that is not possible.

But, you can add your file where is your key in .gitignore.

String apiKey = System.getenv("FORECAST_API_KEY");

when I tried this apiKey became null. Does anybody know the answer of this question? Please help @bendeitch @benjakuben
