Famous 5 Minute Install

Hello,

If I've already done a quickconnect installation at my server control panel for a particular website, but... don't I have to uninstall it before attempting to do the Famous 5 minute wordpress installation. I've been trying to do it repeatedly (with no success!) and just realized that this particular website has already had wordpress installed. So I probably need to uninstall it before attempting to do it manually. Is this correct?

Thanks so much!

What hosting service are you using?

In general it is possible to have multiple installations on one host, but you may find it easier to start with a blank slate (i.e., uninstall the version installed by your control panel.) You'll need FTP/SSH access to your hosting space in order to do the manual installation.

Glad to help! :)

If you have already installed WP once in a location, for example domain.com you will have to delete the files (and possibly database) before being able to install WP manually in the same location.

If you're just experimenting with the process you can try installing domain.com/1click and domain.com/manual and neither will affect the other.

In the real world of course you would just do it one way of the other ;p
