JavaScript JavaScript Basics (Retired) Making Decisions with Conditional Statements Introducing Conditional Statements

First challenge of conditional statements in Javascript basics not working.

Can anyone tell me why this code gives me an error, I tried it on the console and works, won't on the challenge though:

var answer = prompt("What is the best programming language?");
if ( answer === 'Javascript' ) {
  document.write("You are correct");
}

Hi Ben,

The 'S' in JavaScript needs to be capitalized, then I think you've got it.

Kind Regards

Actually students also have to use the alert method instead of document.write

Good catch! All together, this code works:

var answer = prompt("What is the best programming language?");
if ( answer === 'JavaScript' ) {
  alert("You are correct");
}
