First of all in the challenge, you actually want to replace "vanilla" with the $flavor variable. On line 2, make a variable with your favourite flavor.
$flavor = "chocolate" //example
Then you want to use conditionals.
Conditionals work on the basis of making a comparison - which in this case is the $flavor variable in comparison with "cookie dough". Read through the documentation here.
This is a mock example of another conditional:
<?php
$a = "cheese"
if ($a == "beef") { //this will not execute, as $a == "cheese" and "cheese" does not equal "beef"
echo "True";
}
?>
I just ran through the challenge and it basically wants you to set a conditional where if $flavor == "cookie dough", it will execute.
However, I cannot stress the importance of looking through the documentation and taking the time to think through the challenge! You will learn more from this in the long run. However, if you still need an answer, I will happily be more guiding.

1,587 PointsThe message in the final echo command only makes sense if your favorite flavor is the same as Hal's. Add a conditional around that final echo command that checks if the flavor variable has a value of "cookie dough." (Remember to choose carefully between using a single equal sign and a double equal sign in the check.) Preview the code and, if you have a different flavor, make sure the message disappears.
$flavor = "rocky road"; echo "<p>Your favorite flavor of ice cream is "; echo $flavor; echo ".</p>"; if ($flavor == "cookie dough") { echo "<p>Hal's favorite flavor is cookie dough, also!</p>"; }
