Python Python Collections (2016, retired 2019) Dictionaries String Formatting with Dictionaries

For string_factor.py exercise

Hi, as per below code, I am able to parse the value in a list of dictionaries into a new list of strings. But I am able to pass the challenge, may I know why:

def string_factory(name=None, food=None): new=[] for v in values: print (template.format(v['name'], v['food'])) new.append(template.format(v['name'], v['food'])) return new

print (string_factory(values))

string_factory.py
# Example:
# values = [{"name": "Michelangelo", "food": "PIZZA"}, {"name": "Garfield", "food": "lasagna"}]
# string_factory(values)
# ["Hi, I'm Michelangelo and I love to eat PIZZA!", "Hi, I'm Garfield and I love to eat lasagna!"]

template = "Hi, I'm {} and I love to eat {}!"

def string_factory(name=None, food=None):
    new=[]
    for v in values:
        print (template.format(v['name'], v['food']))
        new.append(template.format(v['name'], v['food']))
    return new

print (string_factory(values))
