1,159 PointsFor this exercise I used the toUpperCase() to the id but the results say that should be with a # in the middle
I type like this var username = id.toUpperCase() + .... But the result should be like this "23199XTR#SMITH". I don't know where the # came from.

14,454 PointsI don't think the exercise requires you to add lastName to your userName variable. I pass the test just converting id to upper case. If you want to still add them together, it might be useful to add whitespace in between, as such:
var id = "23188xtr";
var lastName = "Smith";
var userName = id.toUpperCase() + " " + lastName;
alert(userName);
