As far as I know it's gathering popularity really quickly and it's becoming the "go-to" choice for many users and developers. It's probably the most advanced, flexible and properly coded WP framework available on the Web.
The Gantry 5 Framework is completely FREE. I'm astonished how easy it is to build a professional website with it and with some Gantry 5 Particles from InspireTheme.com.
Can you maybe do some courses about Gantry 5? It will be awesome if you do a Basic one for the users who are just starting with it and a more advanced one that will be meant for Theme Developers?
