Genesis and/or Canvas frameworks - can they be used on different projects.

Hi Zac:

If I purchase one or both of these frameworks: (Genesis and/or Canvas).. are they availalbe to use on any/all of my wordpress websites I create? (One at a time, of course.) Even on different hosting environments? (Just for the one purchase price? - or are they single license?)

How are the frameworks installed? The same as a theme? So you would purchase the framework, download the files to your computer, then in WP admin, you would go to add a theme, upload the files, then activate? If you want to also use a theme (as a child theme..) do you do the same steps?

Also, does Bootstrap have a WP Framework available?

BTW: Great job on the videos! I am definetly interested in a Genesis Course.. is it going to be available soon? (Hopefully you will include a video on using Genesis Framework with a Genesis based Theme!!!)

Hi,

Both Genesis and Canvas are basically glorified themes so they should work in the same environment and be installed in the same way as other themes.

Check out http://roots.io/ for a framework built with Bootstrap.

The Genesis Course is out now so definitely go watch it. We choose Genesis as the framework to teach because it has more following than any other single framework. Jesse is a Genesis only WP dev and did a great job with the course.

I have used Canvas framework for separate websites, but I have also completed the Genesis Course on TeamTreehouse. Canvas theme is a downloadable file that you can then develop locally or upload to your server. But I would recommend to start taking the Genesis Course and child themes, as that might be a better bet than Canvas for your needs with many websites.
