I'm totally new to web design and I have no idea what is meant by post. Is it post, as in somebody posted something to a website - they wrote a post? I'm guessing that page means a page on a website - something defined in your html.
Thanks, Craig

You've got "Page" right, in that it is something that is pretty much static (unchanging). Pages may be changed over time to get a make-over, but changes are often spaced very far apart. (Think of the log-in page for Twitter or facebook)
"Post" would be like a blog post or a magazine/news site putting up articles. Posts are always being added (or being changed to add the latest updates). Posts are very dynamic and can come and go. (Think of the timeline after you log in to facebook or Twitter).
I hope this helps to make more sense. :)
