Got an error trying to put the list(range(20))

numbers = list(range(20)) Traceback (most recent call last):
File "<stdin>", line 1, in <module> TypeError: 'list' object is not callababe

Are you sure you are in the python shell:

$ python
Python 3.6.3 (default, Oct  3 2017, 21:45:48) 
[GCC 7.2.0] on linux
Type "help", "copyright", "credits" or "license" for more information.
>>> numbers = list(range(20))
>>> numbers
[0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19]

Perhaps you reassigned list to some other object, thus the built-in list is no longer what is once was?
