Guess or look up?

When i am answering question. I get unsure about a couple of things somethimes. For example if i use =+ or +=

Should i guess or should i look it up?

I assume in real life people look up things all the time so this is the correct way to do things?

When you say Guess, this could be trying it out in the console to see what results you get and looking it up could be looking at documentation, tutorial videos etc.

Both a good options in my opinion and both very real world :)
