I love this teacher. He is definitely one of my absolute favorite teachers on the web!! What are you talking about?? If you took all the prerequisites and went through the previous videos, you would have no problem understanding every bit. If this didn't help, you should quit programming and do something else. :)

I too get lost in previous sections, however I let myself paused there and comeback to it after 2-3 days. It became easier to digest(also I took the time to went through the related CSS course) Considering the amount of code involved learning DOM(html, CSS, js) it's easier to get lost if you don't fully understand even a tiny bit of the element involved.

For example, I just did Python course with a dungeon game earlier, there is more complex(comparatively speaking) logic in the code, however I don't need to constantly look over 3 different files(like here in html, css, js), all I need to focus is one .py file on the screen. I think that is a factor that made this course harder to follow for some.

Guil does speak faster than some other teacher, I turned the caption on and pause a lot :P(Am not a native speaker thou) Still, my sincerely gratitude & thanks towards him and all other teachers @ treeHouse!

Ok, it makes sense now. I spent a lot of time studying Treehouse HTML and CSS classes first, so this time with this class I can only focus on JS and the rest is easy for me. Pausing and re-listening until you get the point is the best strategy here. I'm glad you are doing better now! :)

He speaks a bit faster in this course than in the older CSS courses. But, still, he's very clear. Don't underestimate the time needed for the concepts to sink in. Watch a bit, take a day off, then practice that same bit with some examples, maybe research the topic around the web, then come back and advance a little more. More often than not, when I feel confused or burned, it's just that I did too much in one day and didn't let it really stuck in my brain.

I don't know what you guys are talking about. I have no problem following it. He does a great job explaining things. Sure, it's a more advanced JS concepts so you need to learn very well everything up to this point to understand.

In this video Guil just totally lost me. All the previous videos were very clear and good to follow. I had to pause a few times, read back and let it sink in, but then I always understood.

This video feels to me like I stepped into another course halfway, don't understand one complete sentence that he's constructing and generally feel like I'm slapped with a big bowl of word salad.

What the hell is he talking about?

Guil is one of my favorite teachers as well . The course is good you just need time to understand the concept

ya , now i got the problem, why am i in trouble to follow DOM tutorial ? 1, there is not index.html in workspace to do experimenting with MDN. 2, he using one example the whole video tutorial. When i was with Dave McFarland, wow i was just great every thing was easy,....
