Hello, I am trying to create an image tag and providing an image source but I keep getting an error.

I am getting an error that the image source is incorrect, even though that is not the case. I have specified a correct image source.

index.html
<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
  <head>
    <meta charset="utf-8">
    <title>Nick Pettit</title>
  </head>
  <body>
    <header>
      <a href="index.html">
        <h1>Nick Pettit</h1>
        <h2>Designer</h2>
      </a>
      <nav>
        <ul>
          <li><a href="index.html">Portfolio</a></li>
          <li><a href="about.html">About</a></li>
          <li><a href="contact.html">Contact</a></li>
        </ul>
      </nav>
    </header>
    <section>
      <ul>
        <li>
          <a href="img/numbers-01.jpg"></a>
          <img src="img/numbers-01.jpg alt="">
        </li>
        <li>
          <a href="img/numbers-02.jpg"></a>
          <img src="img/numbers-02.jpg" alt="">
        </li>
        <li>
         <a hre="img/numbers-06.jpg"></a>
         <img src="img/numbers-06.jpg" alt="">
        </li>
    </section>
    <footer>
      <p>&copy; 2013 Nick Pettit.</p>
    </footer>
  </body>

Also a typo on the third image link: <a hre="img/numbers-06.jpg"></a>, href is spelled hre. It will pass without fixing though.

On your first image, you are forgetting a ". Should be:

  <a href="img/numbers-01.jpg"></a>
          <img src="img/numbers-01.jpg" alt="">

Lisa Sparks , the image tag is what allows you to put an image in your html. It looks like this

<img src="http://lorempixel.com/200/200" alt="Random pic from LoremPixel">

The src attribute is the source of the picture and the alt attribute is a description of the image.

got it thanks a lot
