Help

I don't know how to make this argument. I don't think I'm defining square correctly or writing it so that the integers get squared and if not the non-integer value gets repeated.

squared.py
# EXAMPLES
# squared(5) would return 25
# squared("2") would return 4
# squared("tim") would return "timtimtim"
def squared(num):
  try:
    square = (num*num)
    return square(num*num)
  except ValueError:
    return square({}.format(stringstring))

You are close. Before squaring the num, it needs to be converted to an int. The exception return value was not correct.

def squared(num):
  try:
    square = int(num)*int(num)
    return square
  except ValueError:
    return num * len(num)
