JavaScript JavaScript Basics (Retired) Creating Reusable Code with Functions Create a max() Function

Help with a junction!?

Can someone tell me what I am doing wrong / forgetting?

"Create a new function named max which accepts two numbers as arguments (you can name the arguments, whatever you would like). The function should return the larger of the two numbers.

HINT: You'll need to use a conditional statement to test the 2 parameters to see which is the larger of the two."

script.js
function max (1, 2){
 if (2 > 1);
  return 2;
} else {
  return 1;
}
}

Hey Carlos,

You are definitely on the right track, except you can't use hard-coded values for parameters in functions.

So, instead of 1 and 2 (hard-coded values), you should be using something like a and b (parameter names whose values will be passed in when the function is called). Then is also won't matter which way you do the comparison for the if/else.

Other than that, nice job! :) :dizzy:

Awesome, thank you Jason!
