Help With Android Code

Question: Now that we have a model object, update the TextView to use the Spaceship's type property. Remember to use the helpful getter method!

Code:

LandingActivity.java
import android.os.Bundle;
import android.view.View;
import android.widget.Button;
import android.widget.EditText;

public class LandingActivity extends Activity {

    public Button mThrustButton;
    public TextView mTypeLabel;
    public EditText mPassengersField;

    public Spaceship mSpaceship;

    @Override
    public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) {
        super.onCreate(savedInstanceState);
        setContentView(R.layout.activity_landing);

        mThrustButton = (Button)findViewById(R.id.thrustButton);
        mTypeLabel = (TextView)findViewById(R.id.typeTextView);
        mPassengersField = (EditText)findViewById(R.id.passengersEditText);

        // Add your code here!
        mSpaceship = new Spaceship("FIREFLY");
        mTypeLabel = Spaceship.getText(mSpaceship);
    }
}
Spaceship.java
public class Spaceship {
    private String mType;
    private int mNumPassengers = 0;

    public String getType() {
      return mType;
    }

    public void setType(String type) {
      mType = type;
    }

    public int getNumPassengers() {
      return mNumPassengers;
    }

    public void setNumPassengers(int numPassengers) {
      mNumPassengers = numPassengers;
    }

    public Spaceship() {
      mType = "SHUTTLE";
    }

    public Spaceship(String type) {
      mType = type;
    }
}

Hey Ken, I'm having trouble with the last part of this code challange/

Question: Finally, notice that our Spaceship class has a new field to store the number of passengers in the ship. Use the method to get the number of passengers for mSpaceship, and then set the text for mPassengersField to this value. Note: You will need to convert the int value to a String!

Added Code:

        mSpaceship = new Spaceship("FIREFLY");
        mTypeLabel.setText(mSpaceship.getType());
        mSpaceship.getType();

        mSpaceship.getNumPassagers();
        mPassengersField.setNumberPassengers(mSpaceship.getNumPassengers());

Devin;

Something like the following should work.

mPassengersField.setText(Integer.toString(mSpaceship.getNumPassengers()));

Devin;

Try:

mTypeLabel.setText(mSpaceship.getType());

Happy coding,

Ken

THANK YOU SO MUCH

in LandingActivity.java 1 of 3 mSpaceship = new Spaceship("FIREFLY"); mTypeLabel.setText(mSpaceship.getType()); mSpaceship.getType(); 2 of 3 mPassengersField.setText(Integer.toString(mSpaceship.getNumPassengers())); 3 of 3 mTypeLabel.setText(mSpaceship.getType());
