JavaScript JavaScript and the DOM (Retiring) Responding to User Interaction Adding an Event Listener

Hi guys, Here is my code, for some reason it's not passing and im confused as to why.

adding an event listener to the button element.

app.js
const warning = document.getElementById("warning");
let button = document.getElementById("makeItRed");

Button.addEventListener("click", function(){});
index.html
<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
    <head>
        <title>Adding an Event Listener</title>
    </head>
    <link rel="stylesheet" href="style.css" />
    <body>
        <div id="warning">
            Warning: My background should be red!
        </div>
        <button id="makeItRed">Make It Red!</button>
        <script src="app.js"></script>
    </body>
</html>

It looks like you are on the right track, but the callback function you are passing to the event listener isn't actually doing anything. You would have to add something like warning.style.background = "red"; or whatever style you want to apply to the callback function body.

Hope that helps!

Variables are case-sensitive! Try removing the capital letter from β€˜Button’ on the last line.

Thanks, that worked,
