Ruby Ruby Basics (Retired) Ruby Methods Method Returns: Part 2

Hi, I'm not sure why this code isn't working?

def mod(a, b) puts "The remainder of #{a} divided by #{b} is" c=a%b return c end

method.rb
def mod(a, b)
  puts "The remainder of #{a} divided by #{b} is"
  c=a%b
  return c
end

Hey Maddie,

You're on the right track, but there are a couple things.

  1. The challenge is asking you to return the interpolated string and you are using puts.

  2. The question is worded a bit weird. The challenge actually wants you to do the calculation right inside the iterpolated string. So, really, you never actually use a variable named c.

The corrected code for the challenge is as follows. Hopefully it all makes sense:

def mod(a, b)
  return("The remainder of #{a} divided by #{b} is #{a % b}.")
end

:dizzy:

thank you!
