JavaScript JavaScript and the DOM (Retiring) Making Changes to the DOM Modifying Elements

Hi, My answer is var inputValue = document.querySelector('input#linkName'); This works in VS Code. Is it not correct?

Thanks for your guidance in advance.

app.js
var inputValue = document.querySelector('input#linkName');

<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
    <head>
        <title>DOM Manipulation</title>
    </head>
    <link rel="stylesheet" href="style.css" />

        <div id="content">
            <label>Link Name:</label>
            <input type="text" id="linkName">
            <a id="link" href="https://teamtreehouse.com"></a>

Hi Chuck,

Your code works, you just forgot to get the value. So if you tag .value onto the end it will store the value in the variable. Also, you don't need to reassign inputValue as a variable because it's already assigned for you on the first line of the challenge ;)

Thanks!
