how can a backend web developer learn to code beautiful web sites

how can i make a good looking web site , i'm a freelancer who is doing backend only i want to get more clients by learnig how to do greate sites what is the solution if no one is near me to collaborate with like a front end designer

For me personally I really prefer the backend because I sux at design :-P

There are quite a few resources, especially if you're using WordPress. They have a lot of nice themes available, some for free and some at varying price points.

Also, you might check out w3schools.com and use some of their free CSS templates. I'm planning on using one of their templates to get a portfolio together... W3 Schools CSS Templates

I, too, am terrible at design, especially considering the amazing talent of many contemporary designers. When I try and design one myself, it looks like it's straight out of the early '90s.

Learn HTML, CSS and Javascript - although I'm sure you probably have some knowledge anyway. Then look at sites you think look good and practice using different parts from them. Keep up to date with design trends, a simple Google search will bring up loads of resources for whats trending. Practice and you will get there. Also get a clear understanding of what the client wants from their design too. Often they will have something in mind and then the job is half done.

I suggest finding a front end developer to partner up with, that’s what I did bc i hate design. Sometimes it’s hard to do everything.

i think you right , its not just hard because its a challenge and i love that it just the time matter i mean to have a good looking website beside the logic you need a lot of time and that is a problem considering the competition :)
