How can I append the contentDIV to the var newParagraph?

So I'm trying to use the appendChild() function to append the variable newParagraph to 'contentDiv'. Any idea on how to do it?

app.js
var contentDiv = document.getElementById('content');
var newParagraph = document.createElement('p');
newParagraph.className = "panel";
contentDiv.appendChild('p');
index.html
<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
    <head>
        <title>DOM Manipulation</title>
    </head>
    <link rel="stylesheet" href="style.css" />
    <body>
        <div id="content">

        </div>
        <script src="app.js"></script>
    </body>
</html>

Hi David,

You are doing great just one thing missing from your code.

Instead of writing this line: contentDiv.appendChild('p');

You need to write

contentDiv.appendChild(newParagraph);

You have to append the new variable you created before into the div.

This is my full code how I solved this:

var contentDiv = document.getElementById('content');
var newParagraph = document.createElement('p');
newParagraph.className = 'panel';
contentDiv.appendChild(newParagraph);

Hey David Loder,

You’re very close! The quiz is actually asking you to append the new paragraph you just created. So it’d look like this: contentDiv.appendChild(newParagraph);

Happy coding!

Thanks guys. It was funny as I figured it out right after I posted this!
