in you're example you're saying your file path is:
images and then your image inside the images folder hence "images/image-01.jpg"
If you had another folder in your images it would be "images/otherfolder/image-01.jpg"
if there was no images folder it would be "image-01.jpg"
if the images folder was in a folder previous to the document your working on you would add ../ therefore the file path would be "../images/image-01.jpg"
