How do I add #bond set the lastName to uppercase

I set the it but still refusing where am I getting wrong

var lastName = "Smith";

var userName = id.toUpperCase() +lastName.toUpperCase();

The syntax to combine strings together looks like this use the + operator to glue multiple strings to one

var userName = id.toUpperCase()+"#"+ lastName.toUpperCase();
