How do I compare variables with Twig?

I first developed my website using strictly PHP. So for my page <title> I have something that looks like:

 <title><?php echo $pageTitle ?></title>

$pageTitle has a unique string for each page that it goes to. This way the title is dynamic. I'm not sure how we're supposed to accomplish this with Twig?

For my twig template I have this

<title>{% block pageTitle %} Home Page {% endblock pageTitle %}</title>

But I don't know how to make this dynamic using Twig. I'm reading through the Twig documentation, but not having any success.
