How do I get it to return a number?

I am lost... what do I need to change/add??

function max(upper, lower) {
  if (upper > lower) {
    return upper;
  }
}

Its asking you two test both. Yours only returns if upper is larger number.

function max (upper, lower) {

if (upper>lower) {
  return upper;
} else {
  return lower;
}

}
