How do I include an image tag that displays "img/numbers-01.jpg"?

<a href="img/numbers-01.jpg"> <img src="img/numbers-01.jpg" alt=""> </a>

The above code is what I'm using in the challenge! This code works perfect in the workspace but its not working in the challenge. I get the error "Bummer! make sure you include an image tag that displays "img/numbers-01.jpg". I don't know what to do at this point.

index.html
<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
  <head>
    <meta charset="utf-8">
    <title>Nick Pettit</title>
  </head>
  <body>
    <header>
      <a href="index.html">
        <h1>Nick Pettit</h1>
        <h2>Designer</h2>
      </a>
      <nav>
        <ul>
          <li><a href="index.html">Portfolio</a></li>
          <li><a href="about.html">About</a></li>
          <li><a href="contact.html">Contact</a></li>
        </ul>
      </nav>
    </header>
    <section>
      <ul>
        <li>
          <a href="img/numbers-01.jpg">

          </a>
        </li>
        <li></li>
        <li></li>
      </ul>

    <footer>

There should be a place you click down below the individual answers that says "best answer" or something like that. Hit that and it will mark this question as answered in the forum list :)

Your image tag looks good. I am not sure why there is an a tag pointing to that file though. Are you trying to link to that image through both an a tag and the image tag? I went in and looked at what they were asking and the issue that you are having is trying to wrap the image in the a tag that points to the image itself.

Thank you for the help! I see my mistake now.

I am going to assume that you are on Task 2 :)

The Challenge is asking you to do:

Inside the three new list items, add the following images from inside the img folder: "numbers-01.jpg", "numbers-02.jpg", and "numbers-06.jpg". Leave the alt attributes blank, and don’t add any captions or links. Just the images!

what you added in your code snippet above was just

<img src="img/numbers-01.jpg" alt="">

you have to add the other 2 image tags before you click the Check Work button
