How do I select 3 out of 8 <a> elements in a HTML file using JavaScript?

I've been asked to select all link tags within the <nav> section. There are other links in the file so getElementsByTagName() doesn't work.

You can use navigationLinks = document.querySelectorAll("nav a").

Use document.getElementsByClassName('selected') instead. All of the nav links share the 'selected' class making it easy to target. Hope that helps.
